Welcome to the World Heart Federation

Champion Advocates Programme

The aim of the Champion Advocates Programme is to reduce premature deaths caused by cardiovascular disease (CVD) by 25% by 2025. It’s an ambitious goal and to achieve it we are engaging with:

Cardiologists and other healthcare professionals, to become advocates of best evidence-based secondary prevention and treatment of heart disease and stroke.

Journalists, to help build awareness and media coverage of CVD as preventable and to influence national policy.

Emerging leaders, to help drive the global CVD agenda, promoting best practice, influencing national policy and strengthening health systems' responses to CVD.

Working together, we can prolong the lives of people around the globe, help reduce the financial burden of CVD on national health services and set the political agenda for CVD for decades to come.

To join our fight against premature mortality caused by CVD, including heart disease and stroke, and to access useful materials for health professionals and journalists, please register with the Champion Advocates Programme today.
